Paws to Read to Wilson

Every other Monday @ 4:00pm-5:00pm in the library/East Room

Next Session: September 16, 2019

Improve the literacy skills of children through the assistance of Wilson, a certified therapy dog. They can read a book aloud to Wilson to make them more confident in reading.

Free. For elementary to middle school students. Home-schooled students are welcome. Children must sign up for 10 minute time slots if they would like to read to Wilson. You can call to sign up with the library.

Preschool Story Hour with Miss Penny

Wednesdays, 10:30am – 11:30am starting Wed. September 18, 2019

Join Miss Penny for reading, singing, and crafting fun!

Free. For preschoolers. Happens in the East Room.

Harry Potter Escape Room

Friday, September 13 | 4:00pm – 6:00pm

Immerse yourself in the Harry Potter universe with this themed escape room. You and your friends have to solve the clues in 30 minutes to get out.

Each session is 30 minutes long, 4 people per session. There will be 3 sessions: 4:00pm, 4:40pm, & 5:20pm. Please sign up for 1 time slot ONLY.

Korean Lotus Lantern Workshop

Friday, September 13 | 6:00pm – 7:00pm

The Members of Korean Spirit and Culture Promotion Project will present a documentary film on the meaning of the lotus flower and on Korean artistic traditions. Patrons will then be able to make a lotus lantern.

Korean refreshments will be served.

Free. For ages 10 and up. Space is limited. Must sign up through the library. Materials will be provided.

Jackbox Game Night

Monday, September 23 | 5:00pm – 6:00pm

Come play fun Jackbox video games on the smart TV! Play games such as: “Earwax”, “WordSpud”, “Quiplash”, “Tee K.O”, and more! One needs a smartphone to be able to play. The library has three Galaxy Tabs to use if you do not have a smartphone. (We hope to have laptops, but, drawing games cannot be played.)

Qi-Arts with Celeste Graves

Tuesdays from 10:45am-12noon / September 24th through October 29
All new offering of Qi-Arts with instructor Celeste Graves. Each class will begin with Shibashi, a powerful, flowing and easy to follow qigong practice, designed specifically to support tai chi. Following we will begin learning the Yang style 24 forms Tai Chi – a style known and practiced all over the world which can be modified for all ages and fitness levels. Wear comfortable clothing; must commit to all six sessions.

The Tivoli Free Library provides quality programs and materials to the people of Tivoli and surrounding communities. Situated in the historic Watts dePeyster Firemans Hall, in the heart of the village, the library is just west of the shops and restaurants. The building is also home to the Village offices and court.

Museum Passes

The following museum passes can be checked out for 4-days and must be returned to the Tivoli Free Library. You need a valid Mid-Hudson System Library Card in good standing. Available at Circulation Desk – please call to check availability; first come, first served! At this time, the pass can not be reserved. Call or stop by for more info!

Olana Museum House Tour Pass

Olana is a 250-acre artist-designed landscape with a Persian-inspired house at its summit, embracing unrivaled panoramic views of the vast Hudson River Valley. Reservations for house tours tours only are highly recommended and can be made by calling Olana at: (518) 828-0135.


USS Slater Museum Pass

We also have a family pass (2 adults and 2 children) to: USS Slater, a WWII Destroyer Escort located in Downtown Albany, NY. Call (518) 431-1943 for more info. This is the only Destroyer Escort still afloat, a National Historic Landmark. USS Slater
